FACICP Disability plus launched the Purple Corner, ‘safe place for orange talk’. The Purple corner is designed as a safe space where women with disabilities can have conversations on Sexual and Gender Based Violence as well as Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights. The corner also seeks to provide expertise advise on how to come out of the traumatic situation.
The various researches and surveys conducted by FACICP Disability Plus have revealed the high level of vulnerability of WWDs and that they face Gender and Sexual based violence trice as much as non-disabled women.
The Purple Corner therefore is established to address the current gaps that exist in the responses to GBVs and ensure that women and girl with disabilities access GBVs service and facilities in an inclusive manner. Purple corner is a well-ness clinic and counseling center.
